The last two years has seen a turbulent yet progressive period for the Spade Oak Group.

In April 2005 the company was sold to the Somerset quarrying giant Foster Yeoman providing them with a second, but eclectic, contracting arm that strengthened their customer base.

Spade Oak continued to be run managerially as a totally independent company administering its affairs and purchasing its materials from all sources from its Wooburn Green office. Profits increased appreciably with an upsurge in trade and it’s a tribute to its employees that the Group continued its previous success without disruption.

In December 2006 John Yeoman sold his firm to Aggregate Industries in Leicestershire (themselves part of the giant Swiss Holcim cement group) and although the other contracting divisions were merged the Spade Oak Group has continued and will continue to operate independently in totally managing its affairs.

The Aggregate Industries board appreciates that to be successful the autonomy of Spade Oak is essential in order to provide that intimate ‘small company’ service to our many customers. We therefore, continue in the same shape and form as ‘pre-acquisition’, and of course remain at Wooburn Green near High Wycombe.

The future sees many large projects looming in the South East with the Olympic City construction being to the fore and we predict an upsurge of resulting activity.

We look forward with relish to
the challenge.
