Social Value – achieving community benefits

What does Social Value really mean to you and your organisation?

Social value is defined through the Public Services (Social Value) Act (2013) which drives all organisations and their suppliers to look beyond the financial cost of a contract and consider how the services they commission and procure can improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of an area. Especially areas in which they provide their services.

Spadeoak were delighted to support two initiatives in March, working with Princebuild Spadeoak donated to their Shoebox appeal, donating toys and small gifts that were packaged and sent to Princebuild who delivered the donations to Ukraine themselves. Over 1,000 boxes were gifted to children whose lives have been devastated by the war, Congratulations to Princebuild on a fantastic initiative, we were very proud to support your donations and efforts.

Spadeoak also donned their football boots and new strip to support Ashe Group at their Charity Football event raising vital funds for Happy Days Children’s Charity in Hitchin. Spadeoak MD Kevin Murgatroyd said “the day gave us chance to meet other contractors and network with more people at ASHE Construction as well as raise vital funds for the local charity, as part of this key social value initiative”.

Thank you to all Spadeoak colleagues for their contributions and donations to these fantastic initiatives.
