At Spadeoak we offer the full range of Multi Use Games Areas (MUGA), a MUGA installation allows you to play a variety of different sports all on one surface. 

MUGA pitches (multi-use games areas) are small sports pitches that you would typically find at parks, schools, leisure centres and sports clubs. They can be used to play a variety of different sports including:

• Football
• Tennis
• Basketball
• Netball
• Tennis

Our experienced sports team offer full in house design and build using the latest technology to provide the best surface solution for our clients.

Type of MUGA surfaces

There are four main different types of multi-use game areas, differentiated primarily by the material of the surface, these are 2G pitches, 3G pitches, Asphalt / Tarmacadam pitches and Polymeric or Play Safe pitches.

From inception to completion we install the full build package including earthworks and drainage, sub-bases and macadam, shockpad and final surface finish as well as fencing and floodlighting.

Upon completion of the MUGA we will not just walk away from our clients but instead provide a full range of after care and maintenance as well as providing necessary demonstrations so that our clients can continue to use their facility beyond the usual life cycle.

SAPCA is the trade association in the UK for Sports and Play Construction, the association and its members set the standard for sports construction excellence.

Spadeoak has also been selected by Sport England to support their framework for the Design and Construction of Artificial Outdoor Sports Surfaces. The requirements include visiting and surveying sites for condition and suitability, preparing feasibility reports including outline design proposals and consultation with required bodies.
